The call parking feature lets you place an active call on hold so it can be later picked up by another phone extension.
It's similar to placing a call on hold, but other desk phones can retrieve the call.
Anyone using the same office phone system can answer the call — a process known as call retrieval. Unlike a call transfer, call parking gives you the option to answer the call whenever you want, rather than in real-time.
There are a few reasons why a business would park calls in their phone system.
Answer a call in a separate office. Let’s say you have a workshop and you want to take an inbound call in an office. Call Parking lets you pick it up in the office.
Talk to an employee in person. If you have an important customer on the line, you can chat with an employee before accepting the active call.
Avoid voicemail dead-ends. Instead of sending an incoming call to someone's voicemail, you can place it in a virtual parking lot for others to pick up.

The call park feature, also known as call parking, lets employees place a call into a virtual parking lot so the call can be later answered by another person in the company. It functions much like hold, but other phones can answer the call.
A couple of use-cases for call parking would be to speak with an employee in person before transferring, accepting a call in another office without the need to hang up.
An unanswered parked call will remain on hold for up to five minutes. After five minutes, it will automatically call the original phone number.
If another agent picks up a parked call on their extension before that time, the call is transferred.
Yes, you can park calls using the official NextivaONE App for iOS and Android. Because Nextiva is a cloud communications company, you need an internet connection to make or receive calls.
You can also park calls on your computer by using the NextivaONE App on Windows or Mac and dialing *68 on the dial pad.
Call retrieve is how someone answers a call once it has been parked. All phones attached to the same PBX phone system can retrieve the call after it's parked, similar to transferring a call.
Some VoIP phones from Cisco, Polycom, and others offer a button to park and retrieve calls without memorizing the appropriate function keys.
There are some differences between placing someone on hold and park. When you park a call, anyone else in the company can pick up the call. When you place a call on hold, only you can answer it.
Call parking lets you also move the call to a specific extension for greater privacy.
