+ 02.28.17 | NextOS 3.0 Release Notes

Brand New

  • When creating a new Administrator, you can grant them access to the Billing section by checking the field titled “Billing Management”. This enables the new Administrator to access the Billing section, within My Account. This access has the same capabilities as a “Super Admin”.
  • You can now view your current Invoice in the Account Payment section within My Account. This invoice displays all current charges for the user’s upcoming bill.

Updates

  • Dropdowns throughout NextOS 3.0 now have a search filter.
  • The Manage Users page now loads faster for accounts with 300+ users.
  • Enterprise Admins, when viewing Administrations under Manage Locations, will see only the administrators displayed who have access to the specified location.
  • The number of saved Analytics reports now displays on the NextOS 3.0 dashboard.
  • You can now filter the Call History table by domestic calls.
  • Admin and User Portals now allow alpha-numeric PINs.

Bug Fixes

  • The Call History CSV now displays the same start time as on the page.
  • Performance improvements were made to the View All Details page under Call History.
  • Issues with saving Greetings for Call Groups have been resolved.
  • When viewing the Call History table and selecting Get Calls, the Call Counts, View Details, and CSV now match.
  • User’s Last Name fields can now contain up to 30 characters.
  • Admins that do not have Licensing permissions can no longer edit the Licensing page.

  • You can now download a CSV of your assigned devices in the manage devices section.

Upgrades

  • You can now edit your schedules using the same sliders used to create them.

  • Authentication keys for imported users are no longer larger than the maximum limit.
  • Holiday schedules now save properly for non-enterprise schedules.
  • There should no longer be errors when loading visual voicemail in user portal.

  • The Manage Administrators page now has a Permissions section. You can allow or disallow Analytics or NextOS access for Admins.

  • All Settings functions are now in the My Account section.
  • Porting Status now shows numbers being ported and other important information.
  • The Account Payment section under Billing is now also accessible from the left navigation menu.

Bug Fixes

  • There is no longer an error when a credit card has an expiration date that has a forward slash.
  • The ‘edit’ and ‘add’ options now work correctly for Custom Ringback profiles.
  • Updating the time zone for locations now correctly updates for new users created with that location.
  • Call Waiting settings now save properly when creating a call group.

Upgrades

  • You can now click anywhere in the row to access user/feature settings without needing to click directly on the pencil icon in the manage tables.
  • You can now delete users/features directly from the manage tables.
  • Load-time has been improved for viewing locations as a NextOS administrator. The NextOS account manager can view all locations and modify settings within those locations.
  • The pop-up message that occurs when updating settings now fades away after 3 seconds unless the user hovers their mouse over the message.

Bug Fixes

  • Cancel buttons now clear out any changes so that the canceled information is not seen when the section is re-opened.
  • Phone number statuses now change to assigned when used for these location features: Group Paging, Nextiva Anywhere, Conferencing, Voice Portal, and Alternate Numbers.
  • Unassigning numbers from location features now makes it available to be reassigned within another location.
  • The Expand All button in manage users section no longer has glitches when certain sections are already expanded/collapsed.

Brand New

  • When signed in as an Admin and editing a user, a new button enables the Admin to “Log in as user” which takes them to that user’s User Portal.
  • A new “Numbers” page in the My Account section displays all numbers on the account.

Upgrades

  • The date of the call, including the year and other new details, are now shown in the call history and in the CSV export of the call history.
  • Account timeouts in the Admin or User portals will now take you back to the login page.
  • XBert tips have been updated to include more in-depth information about each section/feature.

Bug Fixes

  • In call history, filtering by newest to oldest is now working correctly, and call duration is now available for all calls.
  • New users can now be assigned to newly-created locations without needing to log out and log back in.
  • Duplicate entries of users should no longer appear in the Busy Lamp Field list after assignment.
  • Long names (exceeding 30 characters) no longer bleed off of tables and borders.
  • You can now assign and remove numbers properly from the Alternate Numbers feature for Users.

  • The Location Forwarding feature allows you to forward all users within a location to an alternate number, on demand or automatically based on a schedule.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues and customers (no matter their device or operation system) with screen-sharing, now available on the App (desktop version only, contact Support for quick setup).

Upgrades

  • You can now click on the $ amount of an invoice to view the full invoice and click to print.
  • From the user portal dashboard, you can launch directly into Call Center and Receptionist dashboards (if applicable).
  • Company Directory links are now located on the Dashboard and Auto Attendant setup for quick reference.

Bug Fixes

  • You can now delete a device from an account if no users are assigned to it.
  • Phone numbers assigned to call groups and auto attendants are no longer locked to the location when unassigned.
  • After assigning a phone number to a location, the phone number will still be available to assign to users and services within that location.
  • When creating a location, you are able to select a phone number from all available phone numbers.

  • Use Call Forwarding (Selective, Always, Busy, Unanswered, Unreachable) to automatically forward calls to another number based on different circumstances or criteria.
  • Click a web-based link or icon to initiate a Nextiva call with Call Me Now.
  • Use Call Notify to receive an email notification when you can receive a call that meets pre-defined criteria (for example, from a specified phone number).
  • Use Calling Line ID Blocking Override to see the Caller ID information from callers, even if they have attempted to block you from seeing it.
  • Look up the name of a caller in an external database when the name does not arrive with the original call using Calling Name Retrieval.
  • Record your incoming and outgoing calls with Call recording.
  • Use Connected Line Identification Restriction to block your number from being shown to the person calling you.
  • Custom Ringback User lets you customize what your callers hear when waiting for you to pick up.
  • Use Do Not Disturb to automatically forward all incoming calls to voicemail, without ringing your phone.
  • Redirect your incoming calls to a specified number outside of your location's business hours using Location Forwarding.
  • Use Hoteling to associate your service profiles with devices other than your own. With Hoteling Host you can act as a host to allow another user with the hoteling guest service to use your device as their own. Use Hoteling Guest to associate your service profile with a host and use the host’s device like it’s your own phone.
  • Use Nextiva Anywhere to make and receive calls from any device, at any location, with only one phone number, one dial plan, one voice mailbox, and a unified set of features.
  • Use Personal Conference Bridges to allow multiple parties to join a conference call.
  • Play an announcement to an incoming caller, before their call is put through, with a Pre-Alerting Announcement.
  • Control your Privacy Settings by selecting how your information will be shared with other users.
  • Use Push to Talk to set up intercom-like functionality with others you speak with regularly on your phone system.
  • Use Selective Call Acceptance to pre-define criteria to accept calls from specific numbers.
  • Use Selective Call Rejection to pre-define criteria to reject calls from specific numbers.
  • Use Sequential Ring to ring multiple phones or extensions in a sequence when someone calls your number, or after you don't answer within the pre-defined number of rings.
  • Display your extension on one or more phones with Shared Call Appearance.
  • Ring multiple phones or extensions simultaneously when someone calls your number with Simultaneous Ring.
  • Place a call by pressing a reduced number of keys, instead of the entire phone number, with Speed Dial.

  • Users can now create a report that includes both the talk time and the number of calls. This report can be built using aggregate and compare formats, and it includes period summary, daily summary, daily average, and hourly average breakdowns. Table is the only display option.
  • A new “Call Group Distribution Report” has been designed to compare users within a call group for calls that came from the same call group. This report is built for the compare format, and includes period summary, daily average, and hourly average breakdowns.

Upgrades

  • Users can now select averages for calls by hour, day, week, and month.
  • Call logs for call groups now identify the user that picked up the call, the call group that was dialed, if it went to voicemail, and if it was transferred.
  • In gamification, options for average talk time, inbound talk time, and outbound talk time are now available from the dropdown.
  • You may now group results by state for the map.

Bug Fixes

  • There should now be no missing entries in Call History.
  • For transferred calls, the initial user now only tracks the time he was on the call, but the receiving user continues to track the time he was on the call after the transfer.

Brand New

  • In the Settings section (under User Management), an admin can now associate an image with a user as their avatar. The default avatar will be an XBert.
  • Gamification displays the avatars selected on the User Management page. These avatars are also displayed when using the gamification custom dashboard tile.

Upgrades

  • Gamification screens can now be added to a custom dashboard tile, comparing custom groups, users, locations, and call groups.
  • When a chart is expanded, the Detail button shows the summary details of the chart in a table, and the Call Log button shows the call log.

Bug Fixes

  • The calendar icon should no longer be hidden behind the Settings (Start/End) box. The calendar is clickable and will populate the Start/End date field with the selected dates, and data will be run on the selected date criteria.
  • Downloading a call log as a CSV after filtering it will reflect the filtered results instead of all results.

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE UPDATING: Before updating your app, make sure to uncheck the “Sign in automatically” option on all old installed versions to avoid accidental list corruption. Also, upgrade the app on all devices, as alternating between releases can cause you to lose contacts. Upon updating, the previously stored “Always on top” is not retained from previous pre-release installations.
