AHT stands for Average Handle Time. AHT is a call center metric that reports how long (on average) agents spend on each phone call they take from the queue.
AHT is used to forecast the number of required staff hours. Multiply Average Handle Time with forecasted call quantities coming into the call center. The resulting time allows call centers to adjust staffing requirements.
