What is UDP?

UDP stands for User Datagram Protocol. UDP is a process by which computers and other networked devices send data. It is connectionless, has no error checking, and does not provide retransmission for missing data packets.

These features make it faster but less reliable. Some networks time out UDP connections, which can lead to dropped calls. This process is timed and always drops the calls at a specific time, such as 11 minutes.
