RTP stands for Real-time Transport Protocol. RTP is a method that computers use to send data that is to be implemented in real-time.
Live-streaming video or audio, like those used in phone calls, are examples of this.
VoIP phones deliver the actual conversation of phone calls using RTP. Some firewalls may block RTP traffic. This leads to “no way audio” or “dead air” where the call connects, but neither side can hear each other.
