QoS stands for Quality of Service. QoS determines the order that data enters or leaves a network. It allows for VIP processing of certain kinds of data even if other data has been waiting longer.
QoS conserves bandwidth for essential information. Many networks utilize QoS to ensure that voice data gets passed before other data. This ensures that calls have the highest quality by slowing down traffic that does not need to occur in real-time.
