What is PoE?

PoE stands for Power over Ethernet. PoE devices receive an electrical current over the same line that they use to connect to a network.

This option is available on many VoIP phones. It removes the need for a separate power supply for each phone. Power over Ethernet is provided either by the switch or by a separate power injector.

It is a useful capability that reduces wire clutter in your office.
