What is PCAP in VoIP?

PCAP stands for Packet Capture. Packet capture is a method network and VoIP technicians use to view the packets of data sent by one or more machines. The data can then be inspected for troubleshooting purposes.

PCAP is also the name of the data streams that have been captured by technicians for troubleshooting purposes. So the file that they open would also be called a PCAP.
