What is Caller ID?

Caller ID is a feature by which a phone displays its phone number on the phone it calls.

Caller ID allows for call screening. Calls from a phone number that is not trusted can be ignored or declined.

In common parlance, Caller ID includes the name associated with the phone number and may display alongside it.
