Nextiva voicemail to email security tips

Phishing is the practice of sending emails that appear to be from a reputable company to get recipients to provide personal information. These emails attempt to get the recipient to click on malicious links that may install malware or steal user credentials. It is a persistent issue across email platforms, and we want to help our customers avoid becoming victims.

If a fraudulent email or text message that appears to be from Nextiva or any other company is suspected, follow these steps to ensure your safety:

  • Verify the sending address. Always verify the sender’s email address and hover over any links to verify the domain is Nextiva.com.
  • Do not open the attachments. Even if they appear safe, they could harm your computer. Nextiva voicemail emails only contain a subject line of text containing the Caller ID of the calling party and a .wav attachment of the message.
  • Do not click the links. These unsafe destinations can deliver malware and capture sensitive information. Nextiva’s voicemail service email notifications do not contain graphics or a hyperlink.
  • Report the email. Use your email client’s “Spam” or “Junk” reporting tools.

NOTE: There’s no need to contact support or forward these emails to Nextiva as these messages are sent from unauthorized senders.
