Nextiva Cares is our philanthropic branch dedicated to helping those in need in our Phoenix community. We partner with a local nonprofit organization each month to donate our time, funds, and resources. Below you’ll find a snapshot of our monthly charitable initiatives and organizations we support.

2018
Nextiva Cares 2018 Recap

DEC

Boys & Girls Club of Phoenix Toy Drive

For two weeks in December, our teams collected toys and gift cards to benefit the many Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix. We donated over 200 items which helped the clubs celebrate the children and teens during this holiday season.

NOV

During the month of November, Nextiva Cares collected non-perishable food items and donated them to a family food pantry stocked by Kitchen on the Street. We donated over 2,200 pounds of food and almost 2000 items that will benefit families with young children in need.

From mid-September to mid-October, Nextiva Cares partnered with Southwest Human Development for a Grow a Reader children's book drive. Our Scottsdale and Silicon Valley office worked to collect over 200 books to donate to the organization as well as fill Little Free Libraries!

AUG

In August, Nextiva participated in its annual Ice Bucket Challenge. Leaders and employees alike came together to dump buckets of ice water on their heads and help raise money for the local chapter of the ALS Association.

JUL

In July, Nextiva Cares volunteered with Free Arts for Abused Children in Arizona for a Creativity Day at the Phoenix Art Museum. We spent the day participating with the kids in arts and crafts, dance and music

JUN

This June, our Nextiva Cares team hosted a summer fun drive! We helped the children of Child Crisis Arizona beat the heat and succeed in school with new summer clothes and back-to-school supplies.

MAY

In May 2018, Nextiva Cares had the opportunity to volunteer their time to the ALS Association Arizona Chapter. We participated in a fun hands-on “blender-focused” cooking class to help patients find new recipes to enjoy with their restrictive diets.

APR

In April 2018, Nextiva Cares hit the ground running with over 60,000 other people in support of the Pat Tillman Foundation and also participated in Arizona Gives Day in support of the Detour Company Theater.

MAR

In March Nextiva Cares partnered with HALO Animal Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter in North Phoenix! Read about our experience spreading love and care to their cats and dogs.

FEB

This February, the Nextiva Cares team had an amazing time volunteering with the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation and supporting Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Assisted Animal Therapy Program.

JAN

In January 2018, Nextiva Cares volunteered at UMOM, a temporary shelter for families experiencing homelessness. Read about our creative hour with the children and how we showed them that people truly care and are rooting their future.

2017

DEC

For the third consecutive year, Nextiva Cares has partnered with Toys for Tots to bring some holiday magic to less fortunate children in the Phoenix area and we were able to donate over 500 toys!

NOV

This November, Nextiva Cares supported Resurrection Street Ministry, a local food pantry in Mesa, Arizona, with a food donation drive at our headquarters in Scottsdale.

OCT

This October, Nextiva Cares offered support and raised funds for those affected by the Las Vegas shooting. We’re also proud to have raised over $25,000 for the Bret Michaels Life Rocks Foundation through our #NextCon17 giving campaign.

SEP

This September, Nextiva Cares partnered with the Barrow Neurological Foundation to bring joy to families with children recently born with cleft lip, cleft palate, or another craniofacial disorder.

AUG

Nextiva Cares has partnered with ALS Association Arizona Chapter since 2013, and we are proud to be their single largest supporter! This year we participated in a new #IceBucketChallenge - The Italian Ice Bucket Challenge!

JUL

Backpacks, notebooks, and pencils galore! Our team hosted a school supplies drive resulting in nearly 800 back-to-school items donated to Southwest Human Development to give Arizona’s children the tools they need to succeed this school year.

JUN

This June, Nextiva Cares worked with Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) to help the homeless in the Phoenix community in a way that is often overlooked – with clean and new bras and underwear!

MAY

This May, Nextiva Cares showed some extra love for animals in need by partnering with the Arizona Humane Society, as well as helping children all around the world overcome congenital heart disease with the Chestnut Run in Kyiv, Ukraine.

APR

During the month of April, Nextiva Cares focused its support for numerous philanthropic organizations in the Phoenix area that benefit active duty military, veterans, and their families. In total, we were able to donate over $5,700 to the Veterans Heritage Project, Phoenix Air National Guard Patriots, and the Pat Tillman Foundation.

MAR

For the second year in a row, Nextiva Cares dedicated the month of March to raise funds and volunteer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Arizona’s only Best Children’s Hospital.

FEB

This February, Nextiva Cares wanted to spread love and kindness throughout the Phoenix area by partnering with A New Leaf, a local nonprofit organization that assists families and individuals in their journey to independence.

JAN

This January, Nextiva Cares held a food drive at our corporate office to benefit Phoenix’s local Saint Mary’s Food Bank. We were able to donate nearly 1,500 pounds of food with another $85 in online donations, totaling to 2,060 meals for those in need in the Phoenix area.

2016

DEC

This December, Nextiva participated in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program for the second year in a row. With over 400 toys donated as a company, we have doubled our participation and hope we've brightened this holiday season for children in need across the local Arizona community.

NOV

We donated a total of $20,500 to local nonprofits as a result of our #NextCon16 social media campaign! Thank you to all that joined us for the event. We hope to see you at NextCon17.

OCT

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we donated $5,700 towards metastatic breast cancer research to our local Mayo Clinic. Thank you to everyone who engaged with us on social media for this amazing cause! Twitter | Facebook | LinkedIn | Instagram

Nextiva Cares volunteered with The Joy Bus, a local nonprofit whose sole purpose is to relieve the daily struggles of homebound cancer patients with a fresh Chef Inspired meal and a friendly face.

AUG

Our team took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge for the 3rd year in a row! 218 people participated, and we donated $21,800 to this great cause.

JUL

In support of National Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness & Prevention Month, we partnered with the girls' group at Barrow Cleft and Craniofacial Center. On July 13th, we delivered gift bags to those visiting the hospital to spread some human kindness.

JUN

We donated over $7,500 to St. Joseph's Cancer Center to help purchase much needed equipment for patients undergoing clinical trials for skin cancer. Our team also assembled over 500 gift bags for those affected by melanoma and their families.

Like many others, we were deeply saddened by the events in Orlando and were seeking a way to give back. Through National Voices for Equality Education & Enlightenment, we wrote letters for the victims, their families, and the Pride Center in Orlando to show our support and love.

MAY

Horses Help is a therapeutic and recreational organization that provides equine therapy to children with special needs, at-risk youth, military, and those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The Nextiva team held a company-wide donation drive for supplies and collected nearly 400 items needed to continue daily operations at Horses Help.

APR

Over 90 Nextiva team, friends, and family members participated in the 12th annual Pat's Run benefiting the Pat Tillman Foundation. In addition to the registration fees, Nextiva Cares donated an additional $10 per mile per runner in our group, for a total of over $8,500!

At the 5th annual ABC15 Telethon benefiting Phoenix Children's Hospital,our CEO Tomas Gorny surprised PCH with a donation of $25,000 on behalf of The Gorny Foundation. This donation will directly impact critical programs for patients and their families in the local Phoenix community.

MAR

Nextiva Cares is proud to have partnered with Southwest Human Development to create a Little Free Library. Our volunteer team built and decorated our LFL and filled it with donated children's books. With the help of Salt River Devco, this Little Free Library will provide additional reading opportunities to the youth in our local Arizona community.

Our social media fundraiser was a huge success! We donated over $12,800 to Phoenix Children's Hospital to help build their new Pediatric Trauma Center. We appreciate everyone's help in sharing the news for a great cause.

For the second year in a row, the Uber crew and the Arizona Humane Society stopped by with two adorable puppies, Meatball and Sally, to help them find their forever home.

Team Nextiva ran the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon for the second year in a row, to raise money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

2015

DEC

We donated 200 toys to local children in need, for our annual Toys for Tots campaign.

NOV

In the spirit of Thankgiving,the Nextiva team donated a mountain of canned food items to Grace Chapel Food Bank.

OCT

Nextiva made a donation to the Mayo Clinic for every customer "kudo" received by our team members,and raised over $25,000 for Breast Cancer research.

The Uber crew and the Arizona Humane Society stopped by with adorable puppies to raise awareness for pet adoption.

AUG

For the second year, the Nextiva team participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and raised another $13,500 toward a cure.

JAN

To raise awareness about animal adoption, the Arizona Humane Society and Uber came to Nextiva HQ with some seriously cute kittens.

2014

AUG

Tomas took the Ice Bucket Challenge, with some help from XBert,and we donated $10,000 to ALS research.

Words cannot describe how amazing our partnership with Nextiva has been so far. Not only are they raising funds for our new Emergency Department, but they have also engaged their staff by volunteering at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Through their employees and the always fun XBert, they have brought smiles to the patients and families they have interacted with.
