Nextiva Cares is our philanthropic branch dedicated to helping those in need in our Phoenix community. We partner with a local nonprofit organization each month to donate our time, funds, and resources. Below you’ll find a snapshot of our monthly charitable initiatives and organizations we support.
This month, Nextiva launched the Nextiva Scholarship Program to support aspiring students studying in fields related to Business or STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math) to reach their highest potential. Nextiva will be awarding students $1,000 for the upcoming school year.Apply Now
On August 16th more than 300 team members participated in our 6th annual ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Day. Participants were sprayed down by the Salt River Fire Department and played Ice Water Pong for a cure.
During the month of July, team members in Nextiva’s Scottsdale office collected school supplies to benefit Child Crisis AZ. Through everyone's efforts, more than 1500 supplies were donated along with Vtech toys for the new school year.
On June 10th, Nextiva Cares volunteers headed to St. Joseph's and partnered with the Craniofacial and Cleft Center at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Cares volunteers and young adults with craniofacial and cleft disorders helped pack bags and pass them out to families in the hospital's waiting rooms.
During our annual Spirit Week in May, Nextiva Cares and HEAL International hosted a day of education and art in the MPR. Volunteers painted canvases to raise awareness for trafficked youth and got to take their works of art home.
In April, Nextiva Cares participated in the 15th annual Pat's Run. This was the fourth year in a row that Nextiva has run/walk in this 4.2 mile race.
In March, Nextiva Cares sponsored Gompers' annual Spring Fling. The day included carnival games, Nextiva swag and a cookout for members of all three campuses.
During the month of February Nextiva partnered with Tranquility Trail Animal Sanctuary and Fearless Kitty Rescue to lend our time and energy to helping clean up the facilities and of course play with rescue bunnies and kitties.
In January, Nextiva Cares partnered with André House to help those affected by homelessness. Team members packed 500 reusable toiletry bags with essentials like shampoo, lotion and a toothbrush which were handed out at André House’s downtown campus.
For two weeks in December, our teams collected toys and gift cards to benefit the many Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix. We donated over 200 items which helped the clubs celebrate the children and teens during this holiday season.
During the month of November, Nextiva Cares collected non-perishable food items and donated them to a family food pantry stocked by Kitchen on the Street. We donated over 2,200 pounds of food and almost 2000 items that will benefit families with young children in need.
In March Nextiva Cares partnered with HALO Animal Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter in North Phoenix! Read about our experience spreading love and care to their cats and dogs.
During the month of April, Nextiva Cares focused its support for numerous philanthropic organizations in the Phoenix area that benefit active duty military, veterans, and their families. In total, we were able to donate over $5,700 to the Veterans Heritage Project, Phoenix Air National Guard Patriots, and the Pat Tillman Foundation.
We donated a total of $20,500 to local nonprofits as a result of our #NextCon16 social media campaign! Thank you to all that joined us for the event. We hope to see you at NextCon17.
Nextiva Cares volunteered with The Joy Bus, a local nonprofit whose sole purpose is to relieve the daily struggles of homebound cancer patients with a fresh Chef Inspired meal and a friendly face.
Like many others, we were deeply saddened by the events in Orlando and were seeking a way to give back. Through National Voices for Equality Education & Enlightenment, we wrote letters for the victims, their families, and the Pride Center in Orlando to show our support and love.
Horses Help is a therapeutic and recreational organization that provides equine therapy to children with special needs, at-risk youth, military, and those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The Nextiva team held a company-wide donation drive for supplies and collected nearly 400 items needed to continue daily operations at Horses Help.
At the 5th annual ABC15 Telethon benefiting Phoenix Children's Hospital,our CEO Tomas Gorny surprised PCH with a donation of $25,000 on behalf of The Gorny Foundation. This donation will directly impact critical programs for patients and their families in the local Phoenix community.
Nextiva Cares is proud to have partnered with Southwest Human Development to create a Little Free Library. Our volunteer team built and decorated our LFL and filled it with donated children's books. With the help of Salt River Devco, this Little Free Library will provide additional reading opportunities to the youth in our local Arizona community.
For the second year in a row, the Uber crew and the Arizona Humane Society stopped by with two adorable puppies, Meatball and Sally, to help them find their forever home.
Team Nextiva ran the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon for the second year in a row, to raise money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
We donated 200 toys to local children in need, for our annual Toys for Tots campaign.

In the spirit of Thankgiving,the Nextiva team donated a mountain of canned food items to Grace Chapel Food Bank.
Nextiva made a donation to the Mayo Clinic for every customer "kudo" received by our team members,and raised over $25,000 for Breast Cancer research.
The Uber crew and the Arizona Humane Society stopped by with adorable puppies to raise awareness for pet adoption.
For the second year, the Nextiva team participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and raised another $13,500 toward a cure.
To raise awareness about animal adoption, the Arizona Humane Society and Uber came to Nextiva HQ with some seriously cute kittens.
Tomas took the Ice Bucket Challenge, with some help from XBert,and we donated $10,000 to ALS research.
Words cannot describe how amazing our partnership with Nextiva has been so far. Not only are they raising funds for our new Emergency Department, but they have also engaged their staff by volunteering at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Through their employees and the always fun XBert, they have brought smiles to the patients and families they have interacted with.
It is always an incredible feeling to see all those strong, young kids brighten up even just for a few minutes. I love that Nextiva cares enough about our community to give us the opportunity to give back and do what we can to make things a little bit better.
