How to Record an Auto Attendant Announcement

Record announcements for the business hours and after-hours menu of the Auto Attendant from either a Nextiva or non-Nextiva phone. These announcements greet callers and provide them with a menu of options.

From a Nextiva phone:

    1. Dial 9999.
    2. At any time during the initial greeting, press the * key.
    3. When asked for the mailbox ID, dial 9999.
    4. Enter the Auto Attendant passcode (0000) followed by #.
    5. Press 1 to change the Auto Attendant greeting.

NOTE: If there are multiple Auto Attendants on your account, you will be prompted to enter the Auto Attendant ID, which is the extension of the Auto Attendant you are trying to record a greeting.

  1. To change the business hours greeting, press 1. To change the after-hours greeting, press 2.
  2. Press 1 to record a new greeting.
  3. Start recording after the tone. Press # to end the recording.

TIP: Call the Auto Attendant and listen to the greeting to ensure proper configuration.

From a non-Nextiva phone:

    1. Dial the main Nextiva phone number (or alternate number) assigned to the Auto Attendant.
    2. At any time during the Auto Attendant greeting dial 9999.
    3. For the mailbox ID, dial 9999.
    4. Enter the passcode (0000) followed by #.
    5. Press 1 to change the Auto Attendant greeting.
