What types of files can I use for music on hold?

Customize and upload an audio file to play for callers while they are on hold, waiting in queue, or being transferred. For instructions on how to set up Music on Hold, click here.

All Music on Hold files must be formatted with the following specifications:

  • .wav formatted
  • μ-law, PCMU or G711μ
  • 8 or 16 bit
  • Mono
  • Under 10 minutes 
  • Under 5MB

TIP: If uploading Music on Hold for Call Centers, verify the audio file is formatted properly and no larger than 2MB.
