Setting Up Voicemail to Email

When a User receives a new voicemail, they have the option of being notified via email that they have a new voicemail. They also have the option of having the voicemail message attached to the email as a .wav file (a common audio file format). These options can be activated from the NextOS Voice portal. Or for more options, follow the steps below to set this up for a User.

For Users, please click here for instructions

  1. For Administrators, log in to NextOS by visiting www.nextiva.com and clicking on Login found at the top of the page. Alternatively, click here.
  2. Log in to NextOS with your login credentials.
  3. From the main dashboard, hover over Users at the top of the screen and select Manage Users (Figure 1-1).

  • Alert Me Of Voicemail: this setting will send an email to the user notifying them of a new voicemail, but will not send the message itself. The user would then have to call in over the phone to check their messages.

  • Send Attachment Of Message (Recommended): this setting will send an email to the user with the voicemail message attached as a .wav file (a common audio file format). A copy of the message will still be kept on Nextiva’s servers (if selected above), so the user can call in and check their messages over the phone. This is the recommended way to set up voicemail to email.

  1. Click the green Save button at the bottom of the screen. A pop-up window will appear confirming that your voice management settings have been updated (Figure 1-6).
