Setting up a fax bridge

To use a regular fax machine along with the virtual fax service, you need to purchase a Nextiva Fax Bridge. The Fax Bridge allows the analog machine to work with your Nextiva vFAX account so that you can fax to and from both your email and an analog fax machine. Click HERE to purchase a fax line.

Once purchased, please have the 12-digit serial number available, located on the bottom of the device. This is used to link the device to your account. Once you receive the Fax Bridge shipment from Nextiva, please contact Nextiva Support to assign the device.

On the back of the device, you will have the following ports; connect them in this order. 

  1. FAX port connects to the LINE port on your fax machine via a telephone cord.
  2. WAN port connects to the Internet via Ethernet cord (plug directly into a wall port, switch, or router).
  3. PWR port plugs in the power supply with the power cable that was supplied with the device.

NOTE: The FXS port will not be used.

Once plugged in, the bridge will power within 1-5 minutes, depending on your network. You should see two green lights on the front and a blinking green and solid amber light on the back. You are now ready to send and receive faxes via your fax machine and Nextiva vFAX.
