Adding live chat to GoDaddy, Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress

After configuring the Live Chat settings, you can insert the chat on your website. The process of inserting the code varies depending on the website being used. Below, we’ve included some of the top website platforms where you can install Live Chat.

WordPress

  

If you are using WordPress for your Website you can install the Nextiva Live Chat plugin found here

NOTE: Instead of copying and pasting the entire javascript code you will only need the key and the URL

GoDaddy

You can install Nextiva Live Chat on GoDaddy by following these steps:

  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll to Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
  3. Select Edit Website or Edit Site to open your website builder.
  4. Go to the page and location where you want to add your custom code and add a section.
  5. Search for the HTML section and select Add.
  6. Paste or write your custom code in the Custom Code field.
  7. Customize the rest of the section, such as the accent color, title, center alignment toggle and height. Leave the Forced Height field blank for auto-height or set a specific height in pixels. A height of 0 pixels is equivalent to deleting the section.
  8. Your changes are saved automatically. Use Preview to see the results and when you’re ready to make the changes public, publish your site.

Squarespace

You can add Nextiva Live Chat to your Square Space website by using the code block feature.

NOTE: Adding JavaScript or iframes to code blocks is a premium feature available in Business, Commerce, Professional, and Premium plans.

Add a code block

  1. Edit a page or post, click Add Block or an insert point, then click Code. For help, click here
  2. Open the block editor by clicking the pencil icon on the block.
  3. Add your code in the text field. If you’re using the code block to display code snippets, switch the Display Source toggle on.

If you’re using the code block to render code, ensure you select HTML or Markdown in the Type menu.

Enter or paste the code into the text field. To paste code, copy the code, then click into the field and press Ctrl + V (Windows) or Command + V (Mac).

Code blocks set to CSS or JavaScript display code as text by default. To render CSS or JavaScript in code blocks, select HTML from the drop-down menu. For CSS, surround the code with <style> </style> tags. For JavaScript, surround the code with <script> </script> tags.

Wix

You can add Nextiva Live Chat to your Wix website by using the custom code feature found under settings:

  1. Go to Settings in your site’s dashboard.
  2. Click the Custom Code tab in the Advanced section.
  3. Click + Add Custom Code at the top right and paste the code snippet in the text box. 
  4. Enter a name for your code. TIP: Name it Nextiva LiveChat so you can easily identify it later. 
  5. Select an option under Add Code to Pages:
    • All pages: This adds the code to all of your site’s pages, including any new pages that you create in the future. Choose whether to load the code only once per visit or on each page your visitor opens.
    • Choose specific pages: Use the drop-down menu to select the relevant pages.
  6. Choose where to place your code under Place Code in and click Apply.
