Nextiva text messaging empowers users and businesses by opening up an additional channel for communicating with teammates and customers from any device, anywhere.
NOTE: If using the NextOS Platform (purchased after December 2020), SMS/MMS is not currently supported on the Nextiva Desktop App. However, it is supported on the Nextiva Mobile App. For more information, click here.
1. Activate texting (SMS)
To activate your Nextiva business numbers for texting (SMS), click here.
2. Add SMS contacts
Create a new contact for each SMS recipient, and format the phone number to Nextiva specifications.
Click Plus (+) at the top-right corner > New Contact > under IM Address add 1+areacode+phonenumber@smsnextiva.com (e.g. 15556667777@smsnextiva.com) > Save.
3. Send and receive text messages
After adding the SMS contact, send a new chat to the contact. Replies show with your other chat messages.
