Troubleshoot: Meet-Me Conference Service

A Meet-Me Conference Bridge is a great way to connect multiple users from different locations into the same call. Meet-Me Conferencing allows the conference host to manage multiple settings, such as who can speak, when the conference can take place, and whether a tone plays when attendees enter and leave the conference.

Here’s what to do if you receive the message “The conference service is temporarily unavailable.”

To Troubleshoot Conference Service in NextOS:

  1. Visit www.nextiva.com, and click Client Login to log in to NextOS.
  2. From the NextOS Home Page, select Voice.
  3. From the Nextiva Voice Admin Dashboard, hover your cursor over Advanced Routing and select Call Center Locations
  4. Select the blue Log In button to open the Configuration Portal

NOTE: For Users, log in to the Customer Portal by going to cp.nextiva.com and entering your NextOS login information.

  1. Select Meet-Me Conferencing on the left side, then select Bridges under the Advanced column.
  2. Under the Ports link, there will be a number showing the number of participants who are allowed in that specific conference at any given time. If the number of participants accessing the conference bridge exceeds the number of ports allocated for that conference bridge, those excess participants will not be able to enter the conference.

Here’s what to do if you receive the message “This is not a valid conference ID”.

To Troubleshoot Conference IDs from NextOS:

  1. Select Meet-Me Conferencing on the left side, then select Conferences under the basic column.
  2. Select Edit next to the bridge that was previously created
  3. Verify the Conference ID number or Moderator PIN number with the number you entered during the prompt. If the PIN is correct and you are still getting the message “That is not a valid conference ID,” you may be experiencing issues with the DTMF tones set on your device.

Here’s what to do if you receive the message “The conference is locked. Please contact a moderator.” This issue can only be resolved by a moderator.

To Unlock a Conference:

  1. The Moderator of that particular conference bridge has locked the conference and no other participants may enter until the Moderator has either unlocked the conference, or ends the conference, regardless of the number of ports allocated to that conference bridge. You will need to contact the Moderator directly.
