Navigating the Nextiva Voice Mailbox

Nextiva's voicemail system has countless features to customize your greetings to best fit your business needs. Here are some common voicemail shortcuts which will aid you in navigating through the system.

To start, be sure you can access your voicemail box by following the instructions here.

 


Common Voicemail Shortcuts:

  • While Leaving Messages for Other Users:

 

  • # – Bypass the greeting and start recording
  • * – Access a different mailbox number
  • 0 – Transfer out of greeting to a configured number

 

  • While recording a message:

 

  • * – Cancel
  • # – Stop recording/Review Message

 

  • While reviewing a message:

     

    • 1 – Erase and re-record
    • 2 – Listen to the current message
    • 3 – OR hang up to send
    • 6 – Set or clear the urgent message indicator
    • 7 – Set or clear the confidential indicator
    • * – Cancel recording and transfer to the voice portal
    • # – Repeat menu

 

  • Voice Portal Main Menu:

 

  • 1 – Access VM
  • 2 – Change CommPilot Express Profile
  • 3 – Record Name
  • 4 – Change Call Forwarding
  • 6 – Make Calls
  • 7 – Access Hoteling
  • 8 – Change Passcode
  • 9 – Exit
  • # – Repeat

 

Voice Messaging:

  • ​​​1 – Play
  • 2 – Busy Greeting Menu
  • 3 – No Answer Greeting Menu
  • 5 – Compose Message Menu
  • 7 – Delete All Messages
  • * – Return to the previous menu
  • # – Repeat

 

Play Messages Menu:

  • # – Save
  • 7 – Delete
  • 2 – Play or repeat message; skip envelope
  • 4 – Play previous message
  • 5 – Play message envelope
  • 6 – Play next message
  • 8 – Initiate call to sender
  • 9 – Repeat
  • * – Return to previous menu
