Choose from forwarding options like always, busy, no answer, unreachable, and selective. Nextiva’s call forwarding feature allows users to redirect calls to phone numbers or extensions
Need to step out of the office unexpectedly? Turning on call forwarding sends calls right to your cell.
Alternate Numbers/DID (optional add-on)
Funnel multiple direct lines to the same destination, including phone numbers, extensions, huntgroups, and auto-attendants. This feature also gives you the option to set different ringtones or line keys to ensure you know where each call originated from.
If you’re a national business that has different phone numbers for each location, you can funnel calls from all of your numbers to one central location.
Anonymous Call Rejection
Anonymous call rejection is a feature that allows you to reject any caller that restricts their identity on purpose so you can’t tell who is dialing in.
Sick of those unsolicited telemarketers calling during business hours? Reject them with one simple setting.
Answer Confirmation
If you’re forwarding calls to an external number answer confirmation can determine if or when a call gets answered. A push of a button will alert the system that the call has been answered, and if not, the call gets routed back to the original number so a message doesn’t get left on an unattended number.
For users that don’t always check their personal voicemail, answer confirmation will ensure any missed business calls end up on their office voicemail..
Auto Attendant
Auto attendant serves as your virtual receptionist. It’s an automated greeting that gives callers options to help them reach the right person or department. Auto attendant also includes After Hours and Holiday After Hours.
For smaller companies that may not have a receptionist, but need to ensure their calls our routed to the right person, Auto Attendant can serve as their automated call directory.
Barge-In
Barge-in gives users the ability to join a call that is already in progress. The 3rd party on the call doesn’t know that another caller has joined unless they choose to speak.
If you’re ever running late to a call but don’t want to disrupt the meeting halfway through, Barge-In is a discreet way to join a call and stay updated on what’s happening.
Busy Lamp Field
A receptionists biggest tool, busy lamp field lets other users know what the status of a current user is. Whether they’re idle, have an incoming call, are on a call, or on hold— users are aware of their status so they can more easily make decisions about transfers calls.
A busy reception desk often needs to know in the moment if an important call will reach the end user. Busy lamp field will alert them as to whether they need to send them to voicemail or hold until the line frees up.
Call Group
Call group gives users the option to ring multiple callers simultaneously. Also known as huntgroups, call groups can ring each person in a specific order or have users assigned by priority.
If you have a large department of employees working on a project, and need to ensure important calls get answered whether the manager is on-site or not, a call group can ring the entire group in the order you set.
Call Notify
Call notify will send an email notification to the users email when a call comes through that they’ve specified as important. The email will showcase who called and their number so the end user can easily give them a call back when they’re able.
Never miss an important client’s call again with call notify. Immediately know they called via email, have their number on hand, and call them back.
Call Parking
Call parking allows users to place a call on hold while leaving their line open. With call parking, anyone that is in the parking group is able to access and pick-up that line from any other phone.
Transfer a call between you and your co-workers without missing important calls on your own line.
Call Queueing (optional add-on)
Rather than sending your calls to voicemail, call queueing allows you to keep your callers on hold in a queue. It also gives users the option to play different announcements like Wait Times or Music on Hold.
Busy sales lines can avoid sending a possible lead to voicemail by holding them in the queue until someone on the team can pick-up the call.
Call Waiting
Call waiting alerts the user to incoming calls even while they’re still actively on another call. Users are alerted by a call waiting tone or visual display depending on what kind of phone they’re using.
Busy lines can be alerted immediately when another caller is in the queue so they can decide to hold or end their active call.
Caller ID
Know exactly who is calling you by viewing the display on your phone. It tells you the name and number of incoming calls so you can make faster decisions about whether or not to pick-up.
At-a-glance knowledge of who is calling so you pick-up your most important calls.
Dial-by-Name Directory
Dial-by-Name Directory is another way to create an automated receptionist. This features allows users to dial the person they’re trying to reach by first or last name, and automatically directs their call.
Quickly give your clients access to the person they want to reach by allowing them to dial by first or last name.
Directed Call Pickup
Direct Call Pickup gives users the ability to pickup a call that’s ringing to another number. By dialing the provided access code and entering the extension of the line they want to pick up, they can easily access the call on their own phone.
For teams that need to cover each others desks while they step out for breaks or lunch, directed call pickup makes it easy to answer incoming calls.
Direct Voicemail Transfer
One of the most popular voicemail features, direct voicemail transfer allows users to enter an access code and extension, and have a call go straight to that line’s voicemail box.
Receptionists can send a call directly to voicemail rather than waiting for it to pick-up when they’re transfering calls.
Do Not Disturb
Do not disturb gives users the opportunity to send calls directly to voicemail or transfer them to another line for a certain period of time. Once that period is over they can easily turn the feature off and resume normal calls.
At your busiest moments, do not disturb keeps calls from interrupting important meetings.
Group Paging
Page a number of different lines at one time with group paging. This feature initiates a one-way call directly from your phone to any line in the group, alerting users that they need to pick-up their lines even if they’re not at their desks.
For employees not bound to their desks, group paging can alert them to incoming calls.
Instant Group Call
Call up to 20 people at a time with instant group calling by assigning a DID or extension that rings everyone at the same time.
Initiate an instant conference call by dialing one simple extension and accessing multiple employees at once.
Music On Hold
Never leave your clients sitting in silence. The Music On Hold feature starts playing music as soon as you place a client on hold to avoid any disconnection confusion.
Provide ambiance to your clients while they wait for you to come back to the line.
N-Way Calling
If you don’t have a conference bridge, N-Way calling lets users extend a conference call to up to 6 calls from one phone.
Small companies can use N-way calling to connect with 6 lines at a time in lieu of a conference bridge.
NextOS Portal
The NextOS Portal serves as the company dashboard and allows users to login and make changes. Manage users and devices, add or change features, and access number porting.
Need to add new numbers on the fly or setup call forwarding? NextOS Portal will let you do that from anywhere.
Privacy
Opt-out of dial by name or extension by turning on your privacy settings and prevent users from being able to access your line via those menus. This feature also prevents others from being able to see the status of your line.
C-level executives can avoid unnecessary calls by restricting who can access their extension.
Push To Talk
Push to talk works similarly to an intercom in that you simple push a button and are able to call another person within your company. Their phone will automatically answer, allowing your portion of the conversation to be heard over the speaker.
Essential for assistants that needs to alert a C-level to a visitor or important call without walking into their office.
Selective Call Acceptance/Rejection
Pick and choose when you want calls to come through to your line with the selective call feature. You choose what conditions must be met, whether it’s time of day or specific phone numbers, and what to do with calls that meet those conditions (reject or push to voicemail).
If you’re working on a major project and need an uninterrupted two hour window, selective call can be implemented.
Sequential Ring
Sequential ring programs your phone to sequentially ring other lines that you’ve selected. For instance, you can set incoming calls to go to your office phone, then your cell phone, and finally your assistants phone, in that order.
Have calls ring your lines in order from office to cell to home so you never miss important calls.
Series Completion
Series completion hunts through a set of lines according to an ordered that you’ve pre-determined.
If you’ve used an analog square key phone system, this is very similar to the way that works.
Shared Call Appearance
Pick up and make calls from your line with any number of phones within your office with the shared call appearance feature. You can make and receive calls as your line to any assigned phone, or do the same for your coworkers if you need to make and receive calls on their behalf.
C-level executives may need multiple people answering their line when they step away, shared call appearance makes that possible.
Simultaneous Ring
With simultaneous ring an incoming call goes to any of your assigned numbers at the same time. You can ring both internal and external number simultaneously.
Ring all of your devices at the same time so you never miss a call.
Three-Way Calling
Three-Way calling is a standard feature that allows users to make calls with two other parties at the same time. This allows three people to be involved in a conversation at the same time, without the need of a conference line or bridge.
A simple way to conduct a small three-person meeting over the phone.
Voicemail to Email
Get your voicemail directly from your email without ever having to dial into your line. This feature sends an email to your assigned email address with the voicemail message attached. You can listen right from the email with no phone access needed.
On the go? Access your voicemail via your email inbox and avoid having to dial in.
Voicemail to Text and Transcription (optional add-on)
With Voicemail to Text you receive both the audible message and text transcription of the voicemail to your email account. Users can also setup an option that sends the transcription to their text messages as well.
Missed a voicemail but can’t listen to the audio? Read the message via your email instead.
Virtual Extensions
Setup a virtual extension for someone who is not currently using a VoIP phone. This feature allows users to forward out to external phone numbers including mobile phones and home landlines, when they can’t be in the office.
Remote workers can still have an in-office extension even if they’re using a landline at home.

These web-based links allow clients to simply click and call. Once they click the link, the Nextiva app will place a call to the number connected with that link.
Just input your number and a custom link is created— send it out via email or instant message to make it easy for someone to contact you.
Meet-Me Conferencing
Create a conference bridge using Meet-Me Conferencing. One phone number is provided for users to dial in and connect with everyone else on the conference. Moderators have the ability to control settings like mute and hold.
Make dial-in-conferencing easy by sharing one phone number that connects everyone on the same call.
Nextiva App
This softphone application is provided by Nextiva and downloaded onto your desktop, iPhone, or Android smartphone. Once installed, users can access chat boxes, call settings, contact lists, and speed dials.
