A VoIP phone designed for small businesses

Smaller businesses, and home based business users, seeking to enhance their VoIP experience would be best suited to invest in a fully functioning IP phone, and leave the softphones to residential or basic calling. Linksys had small business professionals in mind when they designed the Linksys SPA942 phone. Whether business professionals elect to utilize the phone strictly as a desk phone, or take it on the road with them the SPA942 offers better display, advanced ease of use and 14 dedicated hard keys plus 4 programmable soft keys. Not to mention the fact that it no longer requires a corded power supply as it can be completely powered and charged via a dedicated Ethernet port.

Nextiva Video: Life Is Good

On September 15, 1997 Google.com became a registered domain name. Since then, Google.com has grown to become one of the largest companies and one of the most highly visited sites on the Internet thus far.

One would think that with Google’s position and popularity, the company would be a “regular” Super Bowl advertiser. Although believe it or not, Google’s first Super Bowl television ad was in 2010. As the popular Internet tech blog, Engadget.com, posted on February 6, 2010; “Google’s Superbowl ad will make you cry a little bit”.

For Google’s first Super Bowl ad, Google promoted one of its Search Story videos from its YouTube channel. The title of the video is “Parisian Love” and it can be viewed by visiting Google’s Search Stories Youtube channel. With over 4 million views of Parisian Love and a cool tool offering YouTube users to build their own Search Story, it’s a great opportunity to create a unique video for Nextiva.

Titled “Life Is Good”, Nextiva’s video demonstrates that life is really good when your business runs off Nextiva. Click here to watch Nextiva’s Life Is Good video.

We’re not sure if Nextiva’s search story will get 4 millions views in just a few months, but we’re very happy with the message we delivery because Nextiva lets business owners focus on what they do best and not have to worry about their communication solutions.

VoIP: Reducing Operational Expenses

Owning and operating a small business is no easy task. In fact, the operational costs of a small business have greatly increased over the last ten years. The reason for heightened business costs has a great deal to do with the drastic increases in service costs. Fuel, wages, and transit expenses have all been on a steady increase, and are likely to plateau in the near future. Since it is impossible for a business to survive without procuring for many of these services, business owners must seek out ways to reduce costs in other areas of the business.

One of the most guaranteed ways for a small business to lower their operational expenses is by abandoning their conventional telephony service and migrating to a small business VoIP solution. For the American small business owner, switching to a VoIP communications platform allows them to reduce their traditional state and federal tax expenses by nearly 15%; many small businesses owners are likely unaware of the added tax expense of operating a packet switch telephone network. Also alleviated are the regular and yearly service costs routinely charged by most telephone companies; savings that can amount to hundreds of dollars annually.

Outside of the routine reductions in regular telecommunications costs, nearly 80% for the majority of smaller businesses, switching to business VoIP phone systems has been proven in assisting in the reduction of nearly 40% of common operational expenses. Adhering to budget and managing financial resources have always been a challenge, in any industry, a small business VoIP solution gives small business owners the ability to control their telecommunications expenses.

Budgeting for monthly telecom bills while still operating on a conventional platform is nothing more than a guessing game as there is no way for the business to foresee their call usage and the costs associated with long distance, extra features or service charges. VoIP provides an all encompassing solution to budget management as all of the tools and features; long distance and administration charges are included in one affordable monthly flat rate. Most plans start as low as $8.95 and there are no hidden fees or yearly service costs to worry about.

Hosted Solutions for Smaller Businesses

Advances in VoIP phone systems provide the small business market with unlimited potential and advantages not previously offered on a conventional on-premise telephone system. It is possible for small business facilitators to immediately realize the benefits of a VoIP communications system provided that they fully understand the operational requirements and capabilities of Internet based communications.

Some businesses fail to look past the slightly higher installation fees associated with an IP based calling system and therefore restrict their ability to foresee the long term potential of VoIP. While it is true that it can cost more to implement a VoIP communications system than one would expect to pay for a conventional PBX, the end results far outweigh the initial investment. A proven way for small enterprises to offset the initial implementation costs without sacrificing quality it to deploy a hosted VoIP solution There are many established and confident hosted VoIP suppliers on the market; Nextiva has been an industry leader for several years.

For a small business deploying a hosted VoIP solution holds many benefits over an on-premise IP telecommunications system; namely cost savings and scalability. Choosing to migrate to a hosted VoIP platform allows smaller organizations to realize the maximum potential of IP telephony without having to initiate large upfront payments for equipment purchases or specialized technicians.

The hosted service provider will provide the small business with the necessary applications to best utilize the VoIP system; and support these applications as needed. Another significant advantage held by a hosted VoIP system is it’s ability to remain flexible with maximum growth potential. Since the entire telecommunications system is housed off-site and accessed virtually, the small business does not need to incur extra costs should they decide to relocate, expand or add/remove extensions. All changes and alterations can be made effortlessly, and for little to no cost, simply by contacting the hosted provider and informing them of the necessary adjustments. This practice provides small business owners with the comfort in knowing that they will never outgrow their telephony system or need to budget for possible company expansions.

The implementation of a complete corporate telecommunications system is not an easy task, nor should it be attempted without the necessary skills and resources to ensure a smooth and correct transition, for this reason it is beneficial for smaller organizations to consider a hosted VoIP solution.

Small Budget Phone System

It is no secret that businesses require efficient access to communications in order to bolster their success. Without such access it would be increasingly difficult for potential consumers to make contact and the business would soon falter. Given the increasing popularity of the Internet for use in the business environment, the next logical step is for businesses to enhance that popularity by utilizing the Internet to carry out their communications processes.

Businesses deploying an hosted VoIP phone system do so not out of convenience but rather out of necessity. The desire for businesses to expand their market reach, while experiencing significant costs savings are just some of the benefits that can be realized by migrating to a VoIP platform. IP telephony enables the small business owner to break free from the confinements of a physical office location by opening their business up on a virtual sphere. Communication in a real time, virtual environment not only greatly increases collaboration but it also enables employees the competencies to make or receive phone calls from or to any location in the world – provided they are within reach of a high speed Internet connection.

A significant advantage of VoIP in small business use is its unique ability to completely eliminate long distance calling expenses, since most noteworthy hosted VoIP providers bestow their consumers with unlimited domestic and long distance calling options; added benefits can be achieved by using VoIP in conjunction with IP faxing as it also removes the long distance charges of faxes sent outside of the local calling area.

Smaller organizations do not maintain the same capital funds and assets as their larger enterprise competitors, making it increasingly important for them to utilize their resources as effectively as possible. IP telephony allows them to allocate both their time and budget wisely, without sacrificing their bottom line.

VoIP: For The Modern Small Business

Operational and communications cost is a rising concern for most small businesses, all causes for small businesses to deploy a hosted VoIP solution. Doing so will allow them to realize the benefits associated with IP telephony. Since most modern businesses rely greatly on the Internet to carry out their most basic communications and marketing functions, the majority of small businesses are highly receptive to delivering both their voice and data communications over and Internet platform; a practice that allows them to increase their reach to span a global scale without abusing their financial resources.

VoIP telephony solutions provide small businesses with a solid foundational strategy, enabling them to not only broaden their communications proficiencies but also to augment and exploit several simultaneous mediums of communicational outputs. VoIP allows small businesses to converge both their data and voice networks, providing them with the added value of seamless communications on a cost effective platform. IP telephony follows the same basic concept of conventional packet switch telephony, however instead of operating on a costly and poor quality analog signal it enables analog signals to be converted into encrypted and compressed data packets so that they can then be transmitted over a high speed Internet connection.

Unlike its outdated counterpart, the packet switch telephone network, a business VoIP communications system provides an above average quality of service while allowing businesses to drastically reduce their telecommunications charges. Small businesses in particular are finding that through the use of IP telephony they are able to harness their existing resources while becoming significantly more flexible, collaborative, productive and innovative.

Speaking in terms of fiscal savings and cost reduction, businesses migrating to a VoIP solution often realize an 80% reduction in monthly telecommunications expenses within their first six months. Utilizing IP telephony provides smaller organizations with the added benefit of no longer needing to budget for long distance calling expenses as VoIP rewards businesses with unlimited local and long distance calling, unlike a conventional telephony structure that would require businesses to pay for their long distance calling on a per-minute basis.

The business bolstering capabilities of IP telephony are exceedingly plentiful as they not only permit access to more than on medium of communications at the same time, but they also allow business users to access and use the company VoIP system from any geographical location that maintains access to a high speed Internet connection.

VoIP: A Valuable Asset to Small Business Communications

Communications is an essential component of every successful business. Without a solid and reliable communications platform it would be nearly impossible for current and potential consumers to contact the business and operations would soon cease. Several years ago the potential of the Internet for broadening business reach was realized, for many years’ businesses and people used the Internet as a gateway to communicate via data channels. More recently, small businesses are expanding their Internet based communications potential to include voice communications as well; through voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP.

The small businesses choosing to abandon their conventional telephony provider in exchange for a VoIP solution do not do so solely out of convenience but rather based upon necessity. Not only does VoIP release smaller organizations from the constraints and limitations associated with a traditional telephone network it enables them communications success on a highly cost efficient platform. Companies taking advantage of a small business based VoIP solution are no longer limited to the physical confinements of the office setting but are instead given the opportunity to perform at full scale in a virtual real time environment. Operating in a virtual arena not only greatly strengthens employee collaboration but it also affords the unique availability to access the entire corporate telephony system from any location that has access to a broadband Internet connection.

Any small business deciding to implement a corporate VoIP phone system can do so with minimal infrastructure changes as the basic cost allocations for IP telephony encompass network and Internet analysis, minimal hardware and software installation. It is best for smaller organizations to procure VoIP service from a reputable provider that only caterers to small businesses, doing so will ensure that they receive the support necessary to experience the full potentials of VoIP.

One of the driving factors for smaller businesses finding success in utilizing the Internet to carry out their communications practices is the ability to eliminate their long distance calling charges, VoIP offers unlimited domestic and long distance calling on both desk and mobile phones – a service the local telephone company would never offer. Another valuable and irreplaceable asset of IP telephony is it’s compatibility with a highly intelligent automated call attendant tool with the ability to receive, catalogue and forward incoming callers to their most appropriate internal contact. An automated attendant acts as a virtual secretary capable of performing most of the duties of a traditional telephone receptionist around-the-clock.

Depending on the VoIP platform selected, businesses are able to utilizing VoIP in conferencing environments, deploy multiple extensions and area codes and implement find me – follow me rules ensuring that no business call ever goes unanswered. When selecting an IP telephony vendor be wary of new providers and those offering residential VoIP services. Nextiva has been providing award winning small business VoIP service for the greater part of a decade and stands behind their service in its entirety.
