Nextiva Connect: How to check voicemail

Nextiva Connect is a flexible forwarding service packed with features such as an Auto Attendant, unlimited extensions, professional voicemail service and multiple forwarding options.

There are a few different ways to check Nextiva Connect voicemail. You can check messages on any phone worldwide, via the online portal, and via any one of your email addresses. Voicemail messages left on your Nextiva Connect account can be forwarded as an attachment to the email address of your choice. You can listen to the recording on your mobile phone, laptop, or desktop computer. You can store the files or delete them from your email after listening. Keep in mind that listening to and deleting voicemail messages from your email does not delete and/or mark the message as read in your online Nextiva Connect portal.


How to check voicemail through any phone:

  1. Call your main business line or the direct dial number assigned to your user – wherever you’d like to check your voicemail.
  2. Wait for your voicemail greeting to start playing.
  3. When you hear your voicemail greeting, hit the * key. It will then prompt you for your 4 digit voicemail passcode. The default passcode is 1234.
  4. Once the passcode is entered, follow the prompts to check voicemail.

How to check voicemail through the Nextiva Portal:

  1. For administrators, log in to the Office Manager Portal by going to www.nextiva.com and selecting Customer Login from the top right corner.
  2. Click Sites and then Employees.
  3. Click the blue Login link next to the employee for whom you wish to check voicemail messages.
  4. Click on the new browser window and you will now see the User Portal for that individual employee.
  5. At the top left corner of the page, you will see a blue Voicemail link. Click on it to see your voicemails visually listed.
  6. From this page, you can listen to voicemail messages and delete them. To listen to a message, click the small yellow speaker icon next to the voicemail. To delete a message, click the check box next to it and click the Delete button. Pro Tip: If you aren’t seeing the options to play the voicemail message online, make sure you are using Internet Explorer.

How to setup voicemail to email:

  1. For administrators, log in to the Office Manager Portal by going to www.nextiva.com and selecting Customer Login from the top right corner.
  2. Click the blue Voicemail link next to the employee for whom you wish to make voicemail setting changes.

  3. Click Change Settings to expand available settings. Under Email Options you can select what type of messages to have sent and enter the email address of your choice. Be sure to click the checkbox which says “Send voicemail messages as an attachment.” If the checkbox is not checked, you will receive notification of a voicemail but no file.
