Location
Nextiva’s primary datacenters are located in Phoenix, Arizona—increasingly the location of choice for Fortune 500 companies to locate mission-critical infrastructure. Why? Being located in Arizona means we are not as prone to hurricanes, tornados, and earthquakes as other states.
Nextiva also has redundant datacenter facilities in Los Angeles, California and New York City, New York.
Datacenter
We’re located in one of Arizona’s largest datacenters—315,000 square feet! With a very strong background in datacenter operations, Nextiva is familiar with what it takes to keep a carrier-grade datacenter operational. Terms such as cooled/raised flooring, redundant power, diverse network connectivity and top-of-the-line monitoring are concepts we’re familiar with. Our datacenters are monitored 24/7/365—and access is only permitted to a limited number of authorized people.
Network
Network infrastructure is one of the most crucial points that distinguish service providers. What sets Nextiva apart from the majority of VoIP service providers? Simple: we own and operate our own network. In times of service outage, having control over our own network makes all the difference in delivering a dial tone to our customers. We operate on our own AS number, and all services run on fully portable IP address blocks assigned by ARIN directly to us. The entire core network is powered by Cisco 6500 Series routers. All services requiring non-blocking throughput are connected directly to the routers through Gigabit connections. We also run BGP with our internet peers to ensure that data will always take the best route to our customers.
Session Border Controller
Nextiva relies solely on carrier-grade Session Border Controllers, which seamlessly interconnect customers and carriers alike. Each SBC node is actively mirrored by a hot standby, so that in the event any one node goes down, its hot standby would immediately take over all actively setup SIP calls. The sophisticated signaling intelligence of the Session Border Controllers adapts session signaling at the network edge to facilitate ongoing protect against a myriad of threats—including flood attacks, DOS attacks and SIP signaling attacks.
Application Server
Nextiva’s application servers are fully clustered nodes that focus on delivering function-specific applications. We’re market pioneers standardizing on fully RFC-compliant SIP call control standards, making interoperability issues a thing of the past. All our backend devices—which power your day to day applications, such as voicemail, call handling, conferencing and more—all “talk” to each other in the same next generation standards.
Proactive Monitoring
Best-of-breed hardware is never enough. Nextiva deploys round-the-clock active monitors of all system and network points, 24x7x365. We’re able to monitor each and every connection point and escalate monitoring states to our Network Operations Center even at the slightest hint of service failure.
